Petrol bunk attendant and cab driver arrested by Chikkaballapur rural police for murdering their friend over drunken brawl

In a swift action,the Chikkaballapur rural police on Friday arrested a 22-year-old petrol bunk attendant and his 19-year-old cab driver for murdering their friend over drunken brawl on Friday.

The deceased Maruthesh,a plumber by profession left home on Thursday night and did not return,Worried family while searching found his body at residential layout on Friday.

Based on the complaint,the police swung into action and track down the accused identified as Vinod,22,a petrol bunk attendant and Abhishek,19,cab driver within six hours of the report of the incident.

Investigations revealed that the trio was drinking partners and went to a bar to buy alcohol.Verbal argument ensued over paying money for the liquors they have bought at the bar .

The trio later returned to a layout where they usually sit and drink and continue to argue over the payment.In the melee the duo assaulted Maruthesh with beer bottles and even slit his throat with a broke beer bottle killing him on the spot.

While Maruthesh crashed on the ground profusely bleeding and died on the spot,the duo escaped .

The police who found the beer bottles found at the scene of crime,verified wine shops in and around the area and analysed the CCTV footage to identify the accused .

The duo was charged with murder and remanded to judicial custody .
