Lecturer strangle to death by her husband over trivial row arrested by Vyalikaval police

A 43-year-old lecturer was strangled to death by her husband over domestic row and the accused tried to make it look like suicide to conceal the crime at their house in Malleswaram 16th cross on Monday.

He later carried her body to the hospital complaining she was unwell and attempted suicide where the doctor declared her as brought dead.

The doctor who examined her body found scratch mark around her neck and alerted the police.

The police rushed to the spot and detained the accused identified as Sharath Uttangi where he in a detailed questioning confessed to the crime .

The police also confirmed the crime through post mortem report finding which stated that the death was due to strangulation.

Chethana was lecturer at a private college while Sharath works with a private firm .

Senior officer told reporters that the deceased Chethana and Sharath married for 15 years and the couple had a 13-year-old daughter.

Probe revealed that the couple had a financial problem and used to fight frequently over the issue.

On Monday the couple had a fight following which Sharath strangled her to death and cooked up a story to make it look like suicide .

Sharath has been arrested and remanded to judicial custody while further investigations are on.
