eprimanded by mother to focus on studies,a 15-year-old girl ended life by jumping from the 20th floor of her apartment in Kadugodi on Wednesday.
The deceased is Avantika Chaurasia,who was a Class 10 student at a prominent CBSE school in Whitefield.
The incident in Assetz Marq Apartment in Kadugodi was reported to the police at around 11.30 am.
The family is from Madhya Pradesh and she is the only daughter of her parents.The father of the deceased was software engineer and mother is a home maker .
Investigations revealed that Avantika had her Class 10 board exams,which would begin on February 15.The mother found Avantika busy in playing with mobile phone and reprimanded her to focus on studies and limit her mobile usage due to the exams.
Miffed over this she locked the room from inside and jumped through the window on the 20th floor towards the balcony .
Security guards found the girl crashed and died on the spot in a pool of blood and sounded alert before informing the police .
The jurisdictional Kadugodi police rushed to the spot and shifted the body for post-mortem after conducting spot inspection..
A case of Un-natural Death Report (UDR) has been registered and further investigations are on,Shivakumar Gunare,Deputy Commissioner of Police (Whitefield), said.
