Summanahalli flyover stretch is famous destination for bike stunts and wheeling as the police have booked as many as twelve two wheeler riders in a special operation launched in the wake of Shab-e-barat festival .

Not only on Thursday festival but a section of youth irrespective of caste and creed involved in bike stunts, wheelings and making reels on any special occasion on this stretch,a senior officer,said.

While a 28-year-old youth identified as Abhishek,from Rajajinagar,slipped from the bike and sustained injuries while he tried to escape from the police and dodge the barricades put up to stop the stunt performers.He was taken to the hospital for treatment where he is undergoing treatment.

Meanwhile the traffic police also managed to pin down Girish,19,from Hanumanthnagar,Syed Suhail,19 and Naveed,24 from Nandini Layout who were caught red handed performing wheeling .

The trend is catching up as these groups move on the flyovers with groups to record the video on their mobile phones and put it up on social media for likes and shares, another officer,said .

The police have seized six other two wheelers when the bikers after noticing the police presence abandoned their bikes and escaped .

These gangs behave normal in the day time and active only in the wee hours,said a traffic police.In order to counter them,the traffic police started checking the bikes which had scratches on the mud guards on the back sides of the bikes and on the exhaust pipes .

This is a clear indications that the bikers are performing stunts and helps the police to keep a check on them and record their details,a officer said .

These gangs communicate with other other on whatsapp group to share the locations and timings of the performance .

The city traffic police have been issued clear instructions to put barricades on entry and exit of the flyovers and strategic locations of the ring road especially during festive seasons and weekends during wee hours .

Despite such measures the bike stunt activities are on the rise endangering the safety of other motorists .
