Trying to change the flight timing proved costly for a senior citizen as conmen posing as customer care of airline company cheated him and made away with ₹ 1.7 lakh .
The victim,KG Nandakumar,resident of Sadashivanagar had gone to Prayagraj for Kumbha Mela and booked return air tickets for 6 members accompanied,to Bengaluru on Last Sunday.
Due to heavy rush at the airport,he decided to change the timing and checked google to call the spice jet customer care.
The person assured to help and gave him instructions to follow,Mr.Nandakumar followed the instructions and even shared the bank details and OTP to the caller .
Within few minutes he started getting the transactions messages and a total of ₹172865 has been debited from his account .
The victim managed to reach the city and approached the central cyber crime police seeking legal action.The city police runs a campaign advising people not to share personal details to anyone .
