he CK Acchukattu police on Wednesday arrested a dismissed Panchayat Development officer who was involved in series of cheating case and had escaped to Srilanka.
The accused Yogendra was nabbed as soon as he landed at the International airport where the security officials had detained him following a look out circular issued against him and handed it over to CK Acchukattu police.
Lokesh B Jagalasar,Deputy Commissioner of Police (South Division),said that Yogendra had cheated a man promising government job and had escaped with ₹ 17 lakh.
Following a complaint,he was arrested by the police and he got out on bail.Probe revealed that the accused had cheated many using similar modus operandi.
Considering his criminal background the government dismissed him from PDO post in Yellapura in Uttara Kannada.
The accused continue his activities and cheated a businessman again luring him into invest in Crypto currency and promised to double his amount in short period.
Trusting him the businessman gave him Rs.1.35 Crore and soon Yogendra escaped to Dubai .
Based on a complaint in VV Puram police,the police got issued arrest warrant and Look out circular for him.
Yogendra shifted his base from Dubai to Sri Lanka and was caught off guard when he returned to Bengaluru by flight on Tuesday.
The accused has been produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody,the police are contemplating taking him into custody to investigate his criminal background further he added.
