34-year-old gram panchayath president allegedly killed her daughter before ending her life at her house in Nagasandra in Bagalagunte police station limits on Sunday.
The deceased Shruthi,Gram Panchayath President for Kundaranahalli village in Pavagada taluk,married to Gopalakrishna,an city based auditor, 10 years ago.
The couple had two children including four-year-old Roshini .
On Sunday,Shruthi along with Roshini went to the room allegedly strangled her daughter before ending life,while her son was playing outside the house .
Shruthi had even shared a suicide note with her brother and husband over the phone before taking the extreme step.The incident came to light when son returned home and later alerted the neighbours.
The police rushed to the spot shifted the bodies for post mortem before conducting the spot,enquiries revealed that Shurthi was upset over the illicit affair of her husband and used to fight .
The husband even harassed her for dowry,which led her to take the extreme step.
Based on the complaint filed by the brother of the deceased, the police have registered a case of abetment to suicide for further investigation.
