Dismissed Reserve Police Constable arrested by Vidhana Soudha police for posing as Lokayukta officer & threatening govt officials with DA cases & demanding money

The Vidhana Soudha police have arrested a 56-year-old dismissed reserve police constable who posing as deputy superintendent of police lokayukta,call officials of various government departments,threatening them with disproportionate asset cases and demand money.

Some of the officials who received the calls from the accused Murugeppa Ningappa kumbar,native of chikkodi in Belagavi,contacted Lokayukta for clarification which led to the expose.

Based on the complaint filed by Basavaraj RM,DYSP, Lokayukta,the vidhana soudha police track down the accused and arrested him.

The accused used to target government officials and make calls claiming to be DYSP of the Lokayukta and inform them there is a DA case against them.He would call them for inquiry and also threaten to arrest them as part of investigation..

The accused would then offer them to help and demand money.

The accused is habitual offender arrested in similar cases earlier.

After coming out of bail he continued with his activities, the officer,said .

The police have seized his mobile phone and analyzing whether the accused had taken money from others using this Modus Operandi he added.
