The South Division police are on the lookout for a city based rowdy sheeter and his associates who set fire to the vehicles belonging to his female friend enraged over a break up.
The accused identified as Rahul rowdy sheeter at Hanumanthnagar police station had a fight with her long term female friend after she called off the relationship in the wee hours of Sunday.
After several requests for a patchup when the girl did not agree,Rahul accompanied by his friend went to her parents house in CK Acchukattu where he allegedly assaulted her father and set on fire to her bike.
The accused later came in search for the victim who was staying in an apartment in Subramanyapura and fought with the security guard before setting fire to her car parked at the basement of the apartment.
Due to this another car parked adjacent was also damaged in the fire on Saturday night .
The entire act was caught on CCTV cameras creating a fear psychosis among the residents.
Based on the complaint by the victim,two cases have been registered against Rahul and police set a massive manhunt for the accused.
Rahul, 26,a notorious history-sheeter under the Hanumanthanagar police station,wanted in cases including that of assault.
Two people including the rowdy sheeter,were seen entering the parking,”a senior officer said.
A few others are suspected to be outside at the time of the incident.He did it to create fear and knew where the woman and her parents lived as he visited them previously.”
Investigations revealed that the suspect had known the girl,said to be 24,since their school days and had been in a relationship with her for around nine years.
However, she recently distanced herself from him,which triggered his response,according to a officer.
“He doesn’t use mobile phones,so the investigators were yet to trace him,”a senior officer said.“He will be apprehended soon along with other suspects he added.
