he Pulakeshinagar police on Saturday arrested a gang of three from Uttar Pradesh involved in cheating senior citizens who come to withdraw money from ATMs.
The accused has been identified as Nayaz,Shubhansh and Rajeeb,part of the gang and operating in the city for the last few months.
The accused would move around ATMs targeting gullible senior citizens comes to withdraw cash.
The accused on the pretext of offering to help them to withdraw cash,replace the card after getting to know the PIN number and escape .
Based on the complaint by one of such victim,the police kept a tab around ATM centres in Mufti and nabbed the accused while they were moving suspiciously looking for the targets .
The accused confessed that after withdrawing the amount the accused would take their families and friends on a holiday trip and blow the money on vices .
The police have taken the accused into custody to ascertain their possible involvement other cases .
