Man kills wife,infront of minor child,then hangs self in Bengaluru,cops suspect marital discord

40-year-old man strangled his 32-year-old wife to death before ending his life in front of his six-year-old son over a domestic row at home in Byadarahalli on Wednesday.

The deceased are Suresh V,a factory employee and his wife Mamata G,a garment worker.

Senior officer told reporters,They stayed at a house in Kalinagara along with his two sons Karan Gowda and Ashwin Gowda.

“At the time of the incident,the couple’s six-year-old child was at home,while the 13-year-old child had gone with his grandparents.

The Byadarahalli police have registered a case of murder and suicide .

Senior officer said,the six-year-old boy called his maternal grandmother,Rukmini,and informed her Mamata was not speaking and asked her to come quickly.

Rukmini,who is also the complainant and lives close to the deceased’s house,arrived shortly to find the child in the window.

She then opened the door of the house with her key and entered inside and found Mamata in a room unconscious on the diwan.Bleeding from the nose a had scratch marks on her face.

In the other room,which was latched,they found Suresh hanging from the ceiling fan.Police suspect that Suresh first strangled Mamata either using a bedsheet or a pillow and then killed himself.

Investigations revealed that the two were married 14 years ago and lived at their house for two months.They previously stayed with Suresh’s parents in Bhadravathi in Shivamogga.

Rukmini alleged that Suresh was currently unemployed, didn’t pay the rent not taking care of the family and frequently picked fights with Mamata.

“Despite being advised by the elders,Suresh continued his behaviour,”the complainant told the police.On February 24, Suresh’s father had advised him.Suresh left home that night and returned on February 26 and then the incident occurred.”
