he officials of the Special Enquiry wing of the Central Crime Branch on Tuesday arrested a conman who posing as Special officer of Indian Premier Spy Agency duped gullible youth promising jobs in his organization.
The accused according to the police has been identified as,Venugopal K from Bidar and his associate Aravind Naidu,who runs a photocopy shop in JP Nagar.
The accused according to the police have cheated 38 people promising field officer job in the spy company and charge a fee ranging from ₹ 2 to ₹ 10 lakh.
Senior officer told reporters,Venugopal met Aravind at a coffee shop one year ago and the former introduced himself as RAW agent and asked his help to find the educated youth for recruitment .
Venugopal assured to help and initially directed two of the candidates to Venugopal who have been cheated .
When Aravind confronted Venugopal he explained his plan and offered 50 per cent commission for every candidates .
The duo started cheating gullible people offering them job in “secret service“and takes money from them offering assignment and salary.
Initially one or two months,the victims are paid salary and later the duo escape with the rest of the money.
Using the MO,they duped a former government employee who paid Rs.17 lakh to get jobs for two of his sons along with three of his relatives .
The accused issued them appointment letters forged by Aravinda in his shop and also gave them work stating that it should not be discussed even with their family members .
After serving him for one month and updating the work on a whatsapp group the victims did not get their salary and tried to call the numbers which were not reachable .
The complainant when went to check with Aravind,he cooked up a story stating that even he had been cheated by the accused after he promised job to his wife .
However following a complaint,the CCB officials on suspicion picked up Aravind which led to the arrest of Venugopal and their network.
The police have seized the fake documents prepared by Aravind and different seals of the government department and the ID card from the accused .
Finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner,B Dayananda,Addl CP Crime,Dr.Chandragupta has appreciated special enquiry wing officials and staff for their commendable job in busting the racket and arresting the fake RAW officer a special reward will be given to whole team he added.
