n recent years, concerns have been growing about the direction in which India is heading under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.
Many believe that his government is more focused on making promises rather than delivering real results.
Failure to Protect Indian Citizens Abroad:
Recently, an Indian woman was sentenced to death in the UAE,yet the Indian government showed little interest in intervening.
In contrast, countries like Israel go to great lengths to ensure the safe return of their citizens when they face trouble abroad.
Why does India lack such mechanisms? Why is there no diplomatic urgency when it comes to protecting Indian citizens overseas?
Strained Relations with Neighbours:
Unlike in the past, India’s relations with its neighbouring countries have significantly deteriorated.During Dr. Manmohan Singh’s tenure as Prime Minister, Narendra Modi used to mock him, claiming that he would send love letters to Pakistan instead of taking strong action.
However, when Modi himself came to power, he invited Pakistan’s then-Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to his oath-taking ceremony. What happened to the tough stance he once advocated?.
Make in India – A Failed Promise?:
The much-publicized “Make in India” project was supposed to transform India’s manufacturing sector, create jobs, and boost the economy. However, according to statistics, the initiative has largely failed to achieve its objectives. Where are the results?
Neglecting National Crises:
When violence erupted in Manipur, leading to the deaths and injuries of countless people, Prime Minister Modi did not even visit the affected areas. How can a leader ignore such a humanitarian crisis? Why was the government machinery inactive while people suffered?
Weaponizing Government Agencies:
The government has given extraordinary powers to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and other agencies to target opposition leaders and dissenters. However, those who support or contribute to the ruling party are conveniently spared from investigations. If this trend continues, will we see a future where a large portion of India’s population is behind bars simply for opposing the government?
Demonetization – A Complete Failure:
The 2016 demonetization drive was introduced with the promise of eliminating black money and curbing corruption. However, it turned out to be a failed experiment. The black money problem persists, and the economy suffered instead. Was it all just an illusion?
Economic Decline and Rising Prices:
Under Dr. Manmohan Singh’s leadership, the Indian rupee was much stronger against the dollar compared to today’s situation, where it continues to weaken. The cost of essential commodities such as cooking gas, pulses, and rice has skyrocketed, making life difficult for the common man.
When crude oil prices were high during the UPA government, Narendra Modi fiercely criticized them for rising fuel prices. But now, despite lower crude prices, petrol and diesel rates have soared like a rocket. Where is the justification? Why is there no accountability?
Favoring Corporate Giants:
Instead of focusing on the needs of ordinary citizens, the government appears to be prioritizing the interests of big business tycoons like Ambani and Adani. Is the government serving the people or just a handful of corporate giants?
The Decline of Press Freedom:
India’s press freedom ranking has plummeted, with only pro-government media outlets allowed to function without interference. Independent voices are either suppressed through pressure tactics or taken over by corporate entities aligned with the ruling party. How can a democracy thrive without a free press?
A Message to the Government
If questioning the government leads to harassment, legal cases, or threats, so be it. But I will not remain silent. I will continue to do my duty and raise my voice for what is right.
Will Prime Minister Narendra Modi answer these pressing questions?.
