Kothanur Police Arrested a handyman Murder Case Accused After 4 Months for killing and robbing home alone woman

The Kothanur police have arrested a 35-year-old handyman for murdering a home alone woman to rob her gold valuables so that he could repay his loan n November last year.

The accused strangulated the victim identified as Mary D,59,removed her 50 grams of gold valuables,carried the body in his autorickshaw to garbage dumping yard in Hosur Bande in Bagaluru and dumped it before fleeing the spot .

The accused was missing since then and the police have kept a watch on all his four SIM cards he was using.

Recently one of the SIM Card activated which was used by the accused to call his female friend.Using the piece of information,the police track down Lakshman and arrested him.

A detailed questioning led him to confess to the crime. Lakshman used to live in Nagenahalli slum board colony and working as handyman and also driving autorickshaw.

He was into all kinds of vices and borrowed a loan of ₹ two lakh.When the money lenders started demanding the money,he hatched a plan to kill Mary living alone and rob her gold valuables.

As per the plan,Lakshman disconnected the power from Mary’s house and as planned Mary called him to check.

He gained entry into the house on the pretext of checking the connection and strangulated Mary to death and wrapped her body in a piece of cloth before removing her valuables .

He even threw the mobile phone of Mary into the garbage truck to hoodwink the police and carried the body to garbage dumping yard and threw.

The murder came to light when Mary’s daughter living separate came to check on her and filed a missing complaint.The police tried to track her down and found her mobile was traced to DJ Halli area.

The Family members later suspected the role of Lakshman who was seen last at Mary’s house and was missing mysteriously since then.
