CIDECODE-2025: Fourth edition of Cybercrime Investigation Summit Inaugurated by Karnataka HM, Dr G Parameshwara

Karnataka Home Minister,Dr.G.Parameshwara released the 4th Edition of the Cybercrime Investigation Manual during the one-day conference “CIDECODE-2025”,a Cybercrime Investigation Summit,organised by Centre for Cybercrime Investigation Training and Research (CCITR) in in Bengaluru on Saturday.

This updated manual,an essential resource for law enforcement,integrates the latest trends,tools,and methodologies to combat evolving cyber threats.

Addressing gathering Mr.Parameshwara highlighted the necessity of technological advancements and continuous training in law enforcement,stating,“As cybercrime evolves,so must our resolve and capabilities.

CIDECODE-2025 is a testament to Karnataka’s leadership in this fight.The release of the 4th Edition of the Cybercrime Investigation Manual,alongside initiatives like the hackathon and cyber law ideathon, reflects our unwavering commitment to building a secure digital Karnataka—and a secure India.”

Organized in collaboration with the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Karnataka,Infosys Foundation,and the Data Security Council of India (DSCI),the summit brought together over 150 police officers from Karnataka and 55 officers from across India to tackle the rising threats of cybercrime through knowledge-sharing, training,and strategic collaboration.

The summit featured an extensive agenda,including panel discussions with senior police officials and cybersecurity experts,a master class on cyber laws,and technical sessions led by industry professionals.

The release of three publication-investigation of virtual digital crime assets,CCITR annual report 2024-25 and the fourth edition of cybercrime manual are published.

The highlight of the summit was a tabletop exercise on handling ransomware attacks, providing police officers with hands-on experience in responding to cyber threats through real-world simulations.

Since its inception in 2019,CCITR has trained over 46,000 personnel from the police force, judiciary, prosecution,and other sectors, reinforcing its role as a leading centre for cybersecurity education and capacity-building in India.

The summit also featured an exhibition by 12 leading companies like Cellebrite, 3rd Eye Techno Solutions and Prosoft e-Solutions Pvt. Ltd,showcasing state-of-the-art digital forensic tools and cybersecurity solutions, offering law enforcement officers first-hand experience with innovative technologies shaping the future of cybercrime investigation.

Director General and Inspector General of Police,Alok Mohan,Director General of Police,CID, MA,Saleem, Director General of Police,Pronab Mohanty,City police commissioner,B.Dayananda and other senior police officials were present .
