Ranya Rao Gold Smuggling case:Actor Ranya Rao’s Stepfather,DGP K Ramachandra Rao,Sent On Compulsory Leave by Karnataka Govt

As the gold smuggling case intensified by three central agencies and also a probe by Senior IAS officer,the state government to avoid further embarassment sent DGP Ramachandra Rao on compulsory leave on Saturday.

In an government order issued on Saturday directed Additional Director General Of Police KV Sharath chandra,holding Recruitment Division has been placed under concurrent charges as Chairman and MD of Karnataka housing and infrastructure development.

This development came after DRI,CBI probing gold smuggling racket intensified the investigation and questioned constables at the airport who helped Ranya Rao and provided escort to pass through green channel without checks .

The duo reportedly told the officials that the orders were carried on the behest of DGP following which the officials are preparing to question Mr.Rao to ascertain his exact role in the racket .

Meanwhile Ranya rao approached session court for bail and the matter likely to come up on Monday.

The DRI officials meanwhile continue to prove her financial transactions and bank accounts and the companies she owned.

The official suspect that Ranya Rao along with her husband and friends floated the companies as shell companies to cover up her illegal activities.
