The Fast track court on Monday convicted a swimming coach for molesting a nine-year-old student at the changing room where she had come to get swimming lessons in the swimming pool at Betta Halasuru in 2023.
The victim was changing her dress when the accused identified as Manasa barged into the changing room and molested her and threatened her not to talk about it .
The victim however narrated the ordeal with her parents following which the parents filed a complaint.
Based on the complaint the Chikkajala police arrested Manasa under POCSO act and filed a charge sheet along with 11 witness .
The court convicted Manasa with five years of imprisonment and a fine of Rs 50,000.
In another case the court had convicted a man identified as Rudresha for raping a minor girl who had come to visit her grand mother in Madanayakanahalli in 2021.
The victim along with her mother had gone to visit her grand mother ‘s house when the accused identified as Rudresh lured her with chocolate,took her to isolated place and raped her .
The victim returned home and told her mother about the incident following which she rushed the victim to the hospital before filing a complaint .
The police based on the complaint track down the accused and arrested him before filing a charge sheet. The court convicted the accused with 20 years of imprisonment and a fine of Rs.1 lakh .
In another case the court convicted Gorla Lova Raju in a POCSO case and sentenced him with seven years imprisonment and a fine of ₹ 1.5 lakh for raping a 17 year old minor girl and abducting her 15-year-old brother in May 2023 .
The accused had befriended the victim when she had gone to get recharge for her mobile.The accused befriended the victim luring her with sweet talks, proposed to marry her before sexually assaulted her.
He later took her to many places in Andhra Pradesh .
The parents filed a missing complaint based on which the police track down the victims and rescued them before arresting the accused Gorla Lova Raju .
He was boked under POCSO,Rape and also under SC ST atrocities act.
