Vijayapura BJP MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal has been booked under outraging the modesty following his derogatory statement against kannada film actress Ranya Rao who was arrested for smuggling gold.
Based on the complaint filed by Dr.Akula Anuradha, resident of Vigyananagar,the high grounds police on Tuesday charged Yatnal under section 79 (outraging the modesty of women )of BNS against him.
In her complaint,Dr.Anuradha said that Yatnal while addressing the media used demeaning and derogatory words against Ranya accusing her of smuggling gold concealed in all the holes of her body .
Yatnal according to the complaint also accused her of having relationship with many politicians to get security cover .
Such demeaning and sexually laced words are not to be spoken by an elected representatives publicly against Ranya Rao,she said.
The police has sought the details of the statement and further investigation are on.
