A 14-year-old boy was killed and his friend riding pillion injured in a self accident occurred on Binny mill main road in Chamarajpet on Tuesday.
The deceased have been identified as Charan Prakash, resident of VS Garden in Cottonpet and the injured Akil Marappa,15,has been admitted to the hospital and recovering .
Charan was the only son to his mother,a single parent, working as domestic help.
Charan had borrowed the bike from his friend and with Akil went on a joy ride.Whle negotiating a curve,he turned back to see his friend,lost control over the bike and crashed into the footpath.
The duo sustained severe injuries,rushed to the hospital where Charan was declared dead.
The Chamarajpet traffic police have registered a case of death due to negligence and rash and negligent driving against Charan and also booked the owner of the bike for further investigation.
