CCB’S EOW Wing busts SSLC,PUC,fake marksheet racket;arrests three across Karnataka

Following a tip of from a good samaritan,the Economic Offence Wing officials of the Central Crime Branch busted a fake SSLC,PUC marks card racket and arrested a gang of three operating in three districts across the state to sell the fake marks cards.

The accused has been identified as,Prashanth Gudumi, 41,from Dharawad,Mounish,KJ,36,from Banashankari and Rajashekhar H,41 from Gadag used to run the show for the last few years and charging between Rs.5,000 to Rs.20,000 per certificate by misusing the loopholes .

Senior officer told reporters during investigation it was found that the accused registered the education academy under the name Karnataka state middle and higher educational board.

Even though the company did not have any approval from the state educational board but the accused claimed that their education system is equivalent to the state education system.

Among the accused Prashanth and Mounish are MBA graduate and Rajashekhar is completed his BA.

They are operating from Dharwad,Belagavi,Gadag and Bengaluru offering certificates for a throwaway prices .

Further Probe revealed that so far the accused has printed and distributed over 350 such fake certificates to their beneficiaries using which some of them even have obtained jobs in the state owned transport and child welfare department .

The others have obtained jobs in private companies and even used to avail passport and other government IDs , the police,said .

The accused even used to run consultation services and replied to the verification calls from different department to cross check the genuineness of the certificates during job selection process.

The racket came to light when a businessman from Palace guttahalli Mirza inamulla contacted Mounish at his office in Banashankari to inquire about the distance education course for his nephew.

Mounish offered him certificates without attending any class or exam for a price and even said he could arrange the SSLC and PU certificate for him.

Shocked by this Mr.Inamullah approached the police and filed a complaint in December last year.

Based on the complaint,the police raided the academy and found that Mounish was printing the certificates from his office and distributing to his associates operating from their home town.
