The Gubbi police on Monday arrested two members of infamous Ojikuppam gang involved in five attention diversion cases in and around the district .
The accused Shiva Gopal,44,a mason from Chittoor in AP and Subramanya Mani,38,a construction labour along with others followed the businessman’s car from a bank to APMC office and later escaped after stealing the cash Rs.15 lakh.
The businessman Shivaram in January this year had gone to SBI Nittur Branch to withdraw the cash and kept it in the car.
He later went to APMC office for some work when the accused who were following his car from the bank , broke open the windshield and escaped after taking the cash bag.
Based on the complaint,the Gubbi police kept a watch on the accused and nabbed the duo.
Based on their information the police recovered cash and gold valuables worth Rs.16 lakh from them.
The duo are habitual offenders involved in over five cases in and around Tumakuru district.The police have warned the people to be more careful while handling cash.
