The Newspaper Association of India, in collaboration with Sharda University, successfully organized the Ink and Impact Media Festival, drawing participation from over 400 students. The event also saw the presence of several distinguished officials from the Newspaper Association of India alongside faculty members from Sharda University.
The festival was graced by the presence of former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Shri Tirath Singh Rawat, as the Chief Guest, while Shri Jagannath Sarkar, Member of Parliament from West Bengal, was the Guest of Honor. The event was presided over by Dr. Vipin Gaur, General Secretary of the Newspaper Association of India. The program was convened by Ritu Sood and Rashid Hashmi.
Engaging Panel Discussions, the event featured thought-provoking panel discussions, including: Media Conclave: “Impact of Social Media in Future Journalism””How Influencers Contribute to Positive Social Responsibility” The discussions featured prominent panelists such as: Mradul Sharma – Senior Anchor R Bharat, Amrita Garg – Senior Anchor News Nation, Vaidehi Taman – Editor Afternoon Voice Daily, Jaya Mishra – Anchor News India 18, Radha Bhatt – Actress & Social Media Influencer, RJ Atishay – Ishq FM, RJ Tripti – Ishq FM, Ritik Bharatdwaj – Social Media Influencer, Harish Sharma – Digital Kalakaar.
The discussion emphasized the importance of responsible content creation. Panelists highlighted that viral content, often filled with negativity, gains traction only because people engage with it. They collectively urged the audience to consume meaningful and positive content to encourage ethical journalism and social media trends.
Shri Tirath Singh Rawat emphasized that media is the strongest pillar of democracy and plays a crucial role in delivering justice. However, he also stressed the need for ethical journalism, cautioning against spreading misinformation.
Shri Jagannath Sarkar connected his insights with spirituality, urging the media to learn from Swami Vivekananda and adopt a service-oriented approach. He emphasized that “Man is born to serve man, and media is a great medium for serving people.”
Dr. Vipin Gaur, General Secretary of the Newspaper Association of India, highlighted that media has always been the mirror of society, from the pre-independence era to the present and beyond. He emphasized the freedom and responsibility of journalists, urging media students to “become job providers, not just job seekers.” He inspired them to “either make history or become history.”
