Traffic restriction has been made in and around KR market area for two days as part of the “Shaktyotsava” at the historical Dharmaraya Swami Temple in Tigalara pet,Bangalore City,
On Saturday Karaga Utsav will depart from Dharmaraya Temple at 12 AM and travel through various royal streets of the city,reaching the Swasthana by 6 AM on the next day Sunday .
Due to huge crowd and devotees taking part in the route of Karaga Mahotsav,and to participate in the Karaga Utsav,chariots arriving from temples in various parts of the city.
On Sunday from 06.00 am traffic will stop at Avenue Road,City Market Circle,City Market front Road and receive worship from the devotees till evening and return by procession till 6 pm.
In the interest of smooth movement of public vehicles, during the departure of Dharmaraya Swami Karaga, following traffic modifications have been arranged.
Vehicular Traffic Restriction Road:
1.Karaga Utsav from the temple till reaching back to the temple.
•Vehicular traffic of all types is restricted from City Market Circle to Mysore Bank Circle via Avenue Road.
• Alternate Route:-Vehicles will be allowed to pass through SJP Road-Town Hall-Kempegowda Road route.
2.As Karaga Utsav enters Avenue Road
•Alternate Route:-Vehicles traveling from AS Char Road towards City Market Circle are allowed to take a right turn at AS Char Cross on Mysore Road via Briand Circle-Rayan Circle.
• Vehicles coming from Mysore Road side will be allowed to enter Briand Circle – Right Turn Rayan Circle – Medical College Circle -Pro|| Shivashankar Circle – J.C. Road.
• All types of vehicles plying from Medical College Circle towards City Market Circle will be allowed to enter J.C. Road through Pro|| Shivashankar Circle and proceed further.
3.Karaga Utsav passes from City Market Circle through Market Front and Police Road Coming to Akkipet via:
•Alternatively:Vehicles plying towards Mysore Road via BVK Iyengar Road are temporarily blocked at Chikkapet Round about until Karaga enters Police Road and allowed to proceed on A. S. Char Street after Karaga
Utsava proceeds on Police Road.
4.Karaga Utsavam is from Police Road,Akkipet and come to cottonpet Main Road to those entering the main road”
•Alternatively: Vehicles coming from BVK Iyengar Road are restricted from taking a right turn at Chikkapet Circle and are allowed to proceed through,A.S.Char Street till Karaga reaches Akkipet Main Road and proceeds from
Balepet Circle.
•All types of vehicles plying on the Cottonpet Main Road have been diverted at Shantala Circle,Devaraja Arasu Circle (Khode Circle) -Vatal Nagaraja Road -Mysore Deviation Road- Binny Mill Road to reach Mysore
Road and proceed further.
•Access/traffic of vehicles coming towards Cotton Town main road at Dr.TCM Rayan Road Mill Road Junction is restricted and allowed to travel.
towards Shantala Circle via Dr. TCM Rayan Road.
5. Karaga Utsav from Kashi Vishwanath Temple via Balepet Main Road to Subedar Chatram coming to Annammadevi temple on the road and again
taking the same route,Kilari road until entering.
•Alternatively:all types of vehicular traffic plying from Mysore Bank Circle towards Kempegowda Road will be temporarily halted/restricted at Mysore Bank Circle and Sagar Junction,then allowed to ply.
•Vehicles plying towards Kempegowda Circle via Anandrao Circle and Sangam Galli have been temporarily restricted and restricted traffic has
been allowed to ply through Y. Ramachandra Road.
•Vehicles plying towards BVK Iyengar Road from Sagar Junction have been temporarily blocked and instead allowed to ply through Kempegowda Road – LTP Road.

1.Chariots like Dharmaraya Swami Ratha on 12.04.2025 and Raths participating in Karaga Utsav on 13.04.2025 till 3:00 PM will alight at Avenue Road and Police Road from City Market Circle to Mysore Bank Circle.All vehicular traffic is restricted from 12.04.2025,10:00 PM to 13.04.2025 to 6:00 PM.
Alternate Route: S.J.P Road,Town Hall, Kempegowda Road route has been arranged.
2.Chariots participating in Karaga Utsav on 12.04.2025, will move after 3:00 PM on 13.04.2025 from Market Circle towards Shantala Circle via Police Road,Cottonpet Main Road.During this period,when Raths are plying
towards Cottonpet Main Road through Police Road,the movement of all types of vehicles from Shantala Circle towards Cottonpet Main Road is temporarily restricted.
•Alternatively:-All types of vehicles plying on Cottonpet Main Road are allowed to divert at Shantala Circle,reach Mysore Road via Devaraja Arasu Circle (Khodey Circle) – Vatal Nagaraja Road-Mysore Deviation Road – Binny
Mill Road.
•Access/traffic of vehicles coming towards Cottonpet Main Road at Dr.TCM Rayan Road Mill Road Junction is restricted and vehicles are allowed to travel towards Shantala Circle via Dr.TCM Rayan Road.
Roads where parking of vehicles is prohibited:-
Parking of all types of vehicles is prohibited on SJP Road,NR Road,JC Road,KG Road right side,PK Lane,OTC Road,Nagarthpet Road,SP Road,and SP Road side roads and Sunakalpet Road, Nagarthpet,OTC Road,
Avenue Road,Market Circle,KR Road,Police Road,AS Char Street,BVK Iyengar Road,Cottonpet Main Road, Akkipet Main Road,OTC Road,(Cottonpet Main Road to Balepet Circle) Balepet Main Road,KG Road,SC Road, Kilari Road,Cubbonpet Main Road,Mysore Bank Circle,
RT Street,City Street,Thigalarapete,Sunkalpete and Karag Utsava Roads.
Parking areas for vehicles:-
The public coming to the Karaga Utsav can park their vehicles at Bannappa Park,Town Hall,KR Market Underground BBMP Parking,Market Circle Private Parking,Behind BMTC Bus Stand,Chikkapete Metro
Parking,KR Road Private pay parking, Abhinaya & Maharaja Parking,BBMP MLCP Parking area near Freedom Park.
