Bengaluru:Former Chief Minister and Member of Parliament Basavaraj Bommai urged that the allegation of 60 per cent commission against the Congress-led state government should also be included in the SIT investigation.

Asked about the state government’s decision to form an SIT to investigate the 40% commission corruption allegations,Bommai told reporters here on Saturday that a commission had already been formed to look into the false propaganda regarding 40 per cent corruption.

The contents of that commission’s report should be made public. Why is this government trying to cover things up? In the past two years, there have been allegations of 60 per cent corruption against this government. That should also be included in the SIT investigation.

He pointed out that public works, excise, and electrical contractor associations have openly alleged that 60 per cent corruption is prevalent in the current government.

The probe must include allegations from the previous BJP government time in office as well.Political opponents spread false allegations against them, but where is the evidence?.

Now,the CM Siddaramaiah and DCM D.K.Shivakumar say people should file complaints with the Lokayukta if commissions are being demanded.Even during the BJP tenure,he asked people to file complaints, but no one did.

About allegations that payments for completed works are being withheld on the basis of seniority,Bommai said the government doesn’t have money to pay for completed works.

That’s why, even though tenders have been awarded, contractors are hesitant to take up the work

Caste Census Politics

The BJP MP said this government and CM Siddaramaiah are engaging in caste census politics. Even before conducting the survey, they should have officially declared it a caste census.

Instead, they disguised it as a socio-economic survey and collected caste details. The chairman of the Backward Classes Commission submitted the report, but neither the secretary nor other commission members have signed it.

Now another chairman has submitted a whitewashed version of the report. If this government truly cares about backward classes, they should make the report public and share what plans they have for them.

“Yesterday they said the cabinet would discuss the matter, and now they’ve postponed it to the next cabinet meeting.

They’re forming another cabinet subcommittee to study it.The Chief Minister merely talking about backward communities won’t fill anyone’s stomach.

For the last three to four years,he’s been playing politics around this issue.Siddaramaiah is not committed. Where there is no commitment, a committee is formed,” the former CM said.
