Molestor on the run nabbed after 10 days by Southeast Division Police

After a hot pursuit the special team tracked down 29- year-old cab driver who was on the run after molesting a student walking home along with her friend late in the night in sudduguntepalya on April 3.

The accused has been identified as Santosh Daniel working as cab driver in Brookfield living with his mother and younger brother at gulbarga colony in tilak Nagar.

Senior officer told reporters,on the day of crime the accused was drunk and walking around when he saw the girls walking and molested her before fleeing .

While the victim did not file a complaint,the incident recorded in CCTV camera installed at a house.The owner of the house alerted the police and the incident went viral on social media promoting the police to initiate Suo motu action

While the police analysed over 150 CCTV cameras to identify the accused,the media aired his video following which the accused alerted and fled to Hosur by bus.

At Hosur the accused stayed in a friend’s house before boarding a bus to calicut.

The special police team headed by DCP Southeast Sara Fathima with about 100 policemen and officers followed the accused by analyzing the CCTV footage obtain information and tracked him down finally at Kozhikode in Kerala where the accused had taken shelter at his friend’s house on Sunday.

The accused was brought to the city and taken into custody for further investigation to ascertain the motive and his criminal background.
