Bengaluru:In a significant verdict, the Special CBI Court has acquitted Mr.Binish Thomas in a case related to a controversial land transaction involving Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL).
The case revolved around a land deal between Mr. Samuel,Chairman of Evahns Academy, and Mr. Velmurugan,Deputy General Manager at HAL.
Mr.Binish Thomas was initially drawn into the case for introducing Mr.Velmurugan to Mr.Samuel.While there were financial transactions between Velmurugan and Samuel, investigations later revealed that Mr.Thomas had no direct involvement in any such dealings.
Following internal complaints,HAL suspended Mr. Velmurugan and recommended a CBI inquiry.Although the inquiry was primarily centered on Velmurugan’s role, Mr. Thomas was also included in the investigation.
Reports suggest that Mr.Samuel and others allegedly harassed Mr.Thomas during a period when he was unwell, attempting to publicly defame him through various media outlets.
However, after a thorough trial, the court found no evidence linking Mr.Thomas to any financial transactions or wrongdoing in the matter.
The defense, led by senior counsel S.Vadavadagi, presented a strong and logical argument that clearly established Mr.Thomas’s non-involvement in the case.
The verdict has brought much relief to Mr.Thomas and his supporters, restoring his reputation after years of legal and personal distress.
