The Soladevanahalli police have arrested a 22-year-old engineering student who attacked his parents and elder sister with a kitchen knife in a bid to kill them at their rented house on Tuesday morning.
The neighbours hearing the commotion rushed to the help and noticed the door was locked from inside .
They alerted the police who rushed to the spot and broke open the door before arresting Harsha.
The couple and their daughter sustained injuries have been admitted to a private hospital and said to be out of danger.
Senior officer told reporters that the couple identified as Krishnamurthy,52,wife Parvathamma,48,daughter Nayana,24 and Son Harsha,22 moved to a rented house in Vinayaka layout in Medarahalli two months ago .
While Narayana finished her graduation and looking for job,Harsha was pursuing the house .
Two days ago he was complaining unusual feeling of uneasy and fear depression for which the parents discussed to take him to the hospital but Harsha refused to consult the doctor or visit the hospital.
At around 3 am on Tuesday when the family were sleeping Harsha locked the door from inside picked up a knife and attacked the family members.
They even tried to resist the attack and three chilli powder on him,but he continued to attack his parents and sister injuring them.
The neighbours and police came to their rescue and arrested Harsha .
The police based on the complaint register a case of assault and attempt to murder against harsha for further investigation.
