In order to keep a check on the property related offences effectively,the city police relaunched enhanced Nakabandi across the city .
The nakabandi system was there along with the regular night beat patrolling,but since last three months,the Nakabandi was enhanced with more number of check points at strategic locations to check vehicles plying on night time.
The Jurisdictional police have been instructed to put up barricades at the strategic locations and a team of police along with the members of “Nere-Hore Kavalu Pade (neighbourhood watch committee) to help the police to check vehicles.
The special drive on enhanced Nakabandi is supplementing the existing night beat and hoysala patrolling system to contain the property offences effectively,City police commissioner,B.Dayananda, said .
According to him the new system is effective and compared to the last three months crime rate,property related offences like,house breaks,mobile snatching and robberies have come down drastically.
Each Naka will be guarded by a team of five members including jurisdictional police and nere hore kavalu pade members to check the suspicious vehicle movements especially during the night time.
This is also effective in containing bike stunts wheeling and vehicle related offences,a senior officer part of the drive,said.
