The BBMP garbage truck driver who was thrashed by angry mob and admitted to the hospital following road accident on Thanisandra main road on March 29, succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday.
The deceased Kondaiah,native of AP was woking for BBMP on contract basis knocked down a scooter and run over a nine-year-old boy,killing him on the spot.
The scooter rider and father of the boy escaped with minor injuries.Irate passers-by comprising of around 15 dragged the driver outside thrashed him black and blue and set fire to the truck .
Kondaiah sustained severe injuries and admitted to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries due to clot in the brain.
While the Hennur traffic police have registered a case of rash and negligent death against the driver,the Sampigehalli police following the death registered a case of murder and arrested four people in this connection.
The police are also on the lookout for the other accused who are on the run.
Earlier the Sampigehalli police have booked a group of people for staging a protest and blocking the traffic following the death of Iman, 9.
Iman was heading to school riding pillion with his father to inquire about the school admission.
Head Constable Bharath Pandu Lamani,in his complaint said that the protestors despite knowing the HC order against protesting in public staged violent protest.
Based on his complaint,the police charged the protestors under section 223 (a),(disobedience to an order duly promulgated by a public servant) for further action.
