It was planned attack where the shooters had waited few yards away from the House to fire at the SUV carrying Ricky Rai and his security guard travelled to his house in Sadashivanagar,G Basavaraj,driver of Ricky said in his complaint.
Based on the complaint,the Bidadi police have registered an FIR charging,Muthappa Rai’s aid,and underworld Operative,Rakesh Malli,Muthappa Rai’s second wife , Anuradha,realtor Nitesh Shetty and Vaidyanathan charging them under attempt to murder and under Arms’ Act.
Basavaraj in his complaint,said that they had left the Bidadi house at around 11 am heading to Sadashiva Nagar at around 11 pm.Few meters after they left the house they herd a sound something hitting the car.
Thinking that something related to tyre,Basavaraj stopped the car to check and found everything in intact and left .
The car moved and after reaching the railway cross , Ricky noticed that he had left the wallet and asked the driver to take the car back .
After returning home,they left home at around 12.50 am and the same spot gun shot were heard .
A gun shot missed the driver and hit Ricky nose and arm and he started bleeding .
Basavaraj stopped the car and noticed Ricky was bleeding profusely and removed his shirt to wrapped around the wound to stop bleeding .
With the help of Gunman Rajpal,Ricky was rushed to Bharat Kempanna hospital in Bidadi in the same car from there he was rushed to Manipal hospital for further treatment .
The complaint stated that Ricky was living under constant threat and was stating that he had life threat from Rakesh and Anuradha.
Ricky had discussed many times that Muthappa Rai before his death had advised Ricky to be careful .
Ricky was living in Russia with his family and was used to visit Bengaluru often.The assailants had information about his movement and planned the attack accordingly .
His movements are being monitored and had up to date information about him,which is evident that he had been kept under watch attacked twice.
IGP Central Range,Labhuram,SP Ramanagara, Sreenivas Gowda with other senior officers and staff visited the scene of crime and after inspecting said we have formed special teams under three DYSPs and are probing the case in all angles he said.
