Former Director General of police Om Prakash found murdered at his residence in HSR layouts on Sunday.
Omprakash,68, was found dead in a pool of blood with multiple stab injuries .
His wife Pallavi and daughter Kruthi was at the residence at the time of the incident.Police suspected her prime suspect and took her and daughter into custody for questioning.
A preliminary probe revealed that the domestic row over property between DGP omprakash and wife Pallavi led to the murder resulted in multiple stab which led to the death.
Probe revealed that Pallavi had row over property and the duo had fought over this many times before .
Pallavi had even complained to the police against him and accusing him of threatening to kill her with a gun and also allegedly assaulted her.
She even staged protest outside the house and called police demanding legal action.
The police had taken pallavi and her daughter into custody for questioning.
During interrogation it was revealed that wife of Om Prakash confessed to the crime and said that she first threw chilli powder in Om Prakash former DGP eyes and even poured oil on his body and tied his legs and hands and stabbed in chest,stomach and neck continuously about 8-10 times she said during interrogation says senior officer.
Om Prakash had many properties which he had given it to his son and siblings the wife used to fight over distribution of property .
Probe revealed that Om prakash had been stabbed 8 to 10 times on his chest,stomach and hands which led him to profuse bleeding.He was writhing in pain for 10 minutes in the hall before breathing his last.
Pallavi later called his friend,wife of another former DGP informing him that she had killed Om Prakash stating I have killed the monster I can stay happy now before calling the control room.
Senior police officials including the DG-IGP,Dr.Alok Mohan,ADGPs and city police commissioner,B Dayananda visited the spot with SOCO officers.
Additional Commissioner of police,Vikash Kumar Vikash said that the police received a call at around 4-4:30 pm.His son who was away has been contacted and he is giving a complaint against the incident,and based on that,an FIR will be registered.
After the case is registered,a detailed investigation will be carried out,Immediately,there are no arrests.Initial investigation suggests that things might be internal in nature.
It seems that some sharp weapon has been used, which caused so much blood loss that it led to death.
A 1981 batch officer Om Prakash served as state police chief in 2015 before he retired and settled in HSR layout with wife and daughter.
