Bengaluru CCB’s SEW team cracks down on illegal cricket bettings,14 arrested & seized cash electronic chips worth crores

CCB-SEW, in operation from 2–18 April 2025, cracked down on illegal cricket betting and black-market ticket sales related to Tata IPL matches, arresting multiple suspects across 09 police stations and seizing cash, mobile phones, laptops, banked betting proceeds, chips worth over ₹2 crore, and more than 50 illicit IPL tickets.

The Central Crime Branch police in a series of raids since April 2 booked 15 cases and arrested 14 persons involved in cricket betting and selling tickets in black .

City police commissioner,B.Dayananda said that the officials also seized Rs.54,000 along with the bank accounts having a total cash of Rs.36 lakh .

The police also seized chips used to sell it to the punters for betting

Probe revealed that the accused sourced complimentary tickets from the companies and sell it on higher prices while some of the tickets are being sources from the staff and employees of the cricket stadium.

The police have already booked few staff and employees of the stadium and further investigating the case .

Mr.Dayananda had requested the people to inform the police if they come across any betting and sale of tickets,instances .
