*Chief Commissioner Tushar Giri Nath said that the BBMP is working adequately to resolve the problems of the public.
A delegation of deputy mayor of Vijayawada Municipal Corporation arrived in the city to study various development works within the BBMP limits.They visited the Integrated Command Control Center (ICCC) of the BBMP head office.
During this,he explained the entire functioning of the BBMP to the delegation of the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation.
He gave information about the Special Commissioners, Zonal Commissioners, Zones,officers/staff working under the Chief Commissioner in the BBMP.
In order to respond to the complaints received from the citizens in the city, an ICCC complaint center has been set up,and Sahaaya 2.0 software has been developed for citizens to file complaints.
In addition to that,there is a helpline number,1533, and as soon as any citizen files a complaint,our officers/staff will work to resolve it quickly,he said.
Garbage disposal,electric lights,road potholes,and cleaning of storm water drains (SWD) and side drains are major challenges in the city, he said that appropriate actions are being taken to address the problems by giving high priority to them.
A separate Bengaluru Solid Waste Management Limited (BSWML) has been established for solid waste disposal.
The garbage problem is being taken care of through it. He said that the cleaning of SWD and side drains will be done before the onset of the monsoon season.
The BWSSB will take care of the drinking water and sewage system.Work is being done to fill selected lakes from the city with treated water from sewage treatment plants.
*High priority for green initiative:
The BBMP forest department aims to plant saplings every year and nurture them.The target for the current year is to plant 2 lakh saplings,and a plan has been made to plant saplings by the start of the rainy season, he said.
*K-100 project site visit:
A delegation from Vijayawada Municipal Corporation visited the site of the K-100 (Civil Waterway) project undertaken by the BBMP.
They appreciated the work being done to construct a waterway on the 9.2 km long SWD from Koramangala SWD (K-100) K.R.Market to Bellandur Lake and to convert it into a viewing point for aerialists.
*Tender S.U.R.E Road visit:
Tender S.U.R.E and White Topping Roads are being constructed with the aim of making the roads in the city more durable. Among these,they visited Nrupatunga Road and viewed the tender S.U.R.E road and white topping carriageway (pedestrian path) work and expressed his appreciation.
Vijayawada Municipal Corporation Deputy Mayor,Avathu Shailaja Reddy,YCP Floor Leader,Venkat Satyanarayana, TDP Floor Leader,Ummadi Venkateswara rao,BJP Floor Leader,Bulla Vijay Kumar,corporators, and BBMP officials were present on this occasion.
