Massive cleanliness drive across the city,The cleanliness drive is in full swing in all 8 zones of BBMP

A 10-day cleanliness drive has been launched across the city from today to 30th April 2025,and cleanliness work is being carried out everywhere in full swing.

A cleanliness drive is being carried out across the city by the Bengaluru Solid Waste Management Limited (BSWML).The city’s roadsides and vacant sites where garbage is dumped are being thoroughly cleaned.

Due to the contractor’s failure in proper removal of waste,there has been a significant rise in roadside garbage dumping.

In this regard,money is being collected from the bills given to the contractors,and the cleaning work is being done.

In the respective zones of the BBMP waste is being cleared using auto tippers at garbage dumping sites (black spots) led by BSWML officers,marshal supervisors and marshals.

The garbage dumping sites are being cleaned, rangoli is being drawn at that place, and green mesh is being built and beautified.

In addition,awareness is being created among the citizens by installing banners not to dump garbage at that place again.

*Clearance of Construction and Demolition (C&D) Waste:

C&D waste has been dumped on the roadsides and vacant sites in the city. Such places have already been identified, and the work of clearing the C&D waste is being done in all 8 zones of the BBMP using JCBs and compactors.

*Single-use plastic seizure:

Businesses and shops in the city are being raided and fined for using single-use plastic.In addition,shop owners are being warned not to use single-use plastic again.

*Collaborative Cleanliness Campaign :

In a large-scale cleanliness campaign, cleanliness work is being carried out in collaboration with officials, the public, non-governmental organizations, resident welfare associations, apartment owners’ associations, and volunteer groups.
