The Adugodi police have registered an FIR against city based doctor for killing a stray dog in a brutal way by throwing it from the third floor of his apartment on Tuesday.
Based on the complaint filed by Ayush Bhattacharjee,a student,the police charged Dr.Sagar Ballal,working in NIMHANS has been charged under section 325 (mischief committed by killing,poisoning,or rendering an animal useless) of BNS.
The accused doctor according to the complainant is a resident of Brindavan apartment in Lakkasandra was not happy with the stray dog named Scooby,staying in the terrace of the apartment taken care by other residents.
He had attempted to kill the dog on February 5 by throwing it down from the third floor .
The complainant noticed the dog bleeding and writhing in pain took it to the hospital for treatment.The dog had sustained spinal cord injury and treated for two months .
After recovery the dog was brought back to the apartment and was under the care of the residents.
On Sunday the residents heard a thud sound and noticed the dog was thrown down again.The dog fell on the car parked on roadside and the windshield damaged.
The owner of the car has filed a complaint against Dr. Ballal for damaging the car .
The residents staying opposite the apartment noticed Dr. Ballal went inside his apartment and slammed the door .
The residents went to question while others rushed the profusely bleeding dog to the hospital where the dog succumbed to its injuries few minutes later .
The complainant said that the doctor is habitual and had a similar case of allegedly killing a dog in Madhya Pradesh in April last year.
The Adugodi police said that they will summon the doctor for questioning based on the statement legal action will be taken .
