n Bengaluru Shop owner attacked for playing devotional song on Jumma Masjid Road, BJP targets Congress .
Playing devotional song during prayer time proved costly for a mobile shop owner as a group of unruly men beat him up black and blue at Siddana Street in cubbonpet main road on Sunday
The injured Mukesh Singh was taken to hospital and large group gathered in front of Halasurgate police station Demanding action against the attacker’s.
The situation was tense and police assured necessary action probing further to ascertain the identity of the attackers.
A group of youth fight with a mobile shop owner over trivial row over loud speaker and playing Devotional songs in Jumma Masjid road on Siddana street in Nagarathpet on Sunday taken a communal colour after the opposition BJP party accused the ruling congress party and the police for trying to protect the accused .
The incident occurred on Sunday at around 6.25 pm when Mukesh Rajpurohit,26, owner of a mobile shop was playing devotional songs on loud speaker.
The accused identified as Sulaiman,Shanawas,Rohith, Danish,Tarun and others came to his shop and objected him for playing louds music.
Heated argument ensued between them which turned ugly when the accused slapped Mukesh .
Mukesh came out of the shop and the duo exchanged fisticuffs.The entire incident was recorded on CCTV and the accused later overpowered Mukesh,beat him up and fled the scene.
Mukesh later approached the police and filed a complaint following which the other shop keepers gathered outside the Halasurgate police station and demanded action.
Based on the complaint,the police registered a case of attempt to murder,assault and criminal intimidation and arrested Sulaiman Shanawaz and Rohith and remanded them to judicial custody.
Meanwhile the BJP posted a tweet on social media accusing that the congress government and the jurisdictional police trying to protect the accused .
Taking the protest forward, Central and south MP BJP, PC Mohan and Tejaswi Surya visited the victim shop to inquire about the incident and console the victim.
Accompanied by hundreds of their followers Mr. Surya accused Congress government to allow anti national attacks in the city and demanded immediate arrest of the remaining accused failing which he warned to call for Nagarathpet bundh.
Victim speaking to media said that the accused are from kumbarpet and local goons.They had come to my shop earlier and asked for goods to lend.I refused.
On Sunday evening they came to the shop while I was playing Hanuman chalisa and threatened me with dire consequences and warned me not to play the music during their prayer .
I argued with them stating it’s not even the time for azaan for which they told me to beat me up for arguing.
I got agitated and came out challenging them to hit me and they pounced on me they even punched me with a iron punch and threatened to stab me with a knife.
They had earlier made similar ruckus at a tea shop close by people complained against them but police had not taken any action..
I think the police have some nexus with this kumbarpet gang,Mukesh told the media.
Meanwhile victim’s father says my son doesn’t know to write kannada and he has not written the complaint the complaint has been written by police personnel and asks how three other names added in the complaint copy and even the relatives blame police .
