A godown containing goods and materials to be supplied for some super markets in the city was gutted due to accidental fire broke out in the wee hours of Monday.
Passers noticed the fire at the godown situated in Bhairtati in Kothanur at around 4 am and alerted the fire control room.
Eight fire tenders along with 20 staff members pressed into service who struggled for over three hours to contain the fire .
Since the godown was closed no one was injured in the fire accident, the police, said.
Though short circuit suspected to be the cause of fire , the police are verifying the CCTV footage and waiting for the technical team and FSL officials report to ascertain the exact cause of the fire .
