Fruit vendor arrested for setting the house of a married woman on fire after she refused his marriage proposal

The Sampigehalli police arrested a 25-year-old fruit vendor for setting the house of a married woman on fire after she refused his marriage proposal in Saraipalya in Sampigehalli police station limits .

The accused Arbaz,according to the police is distantly related to the woman and was stalking her with his proposal.The woman used to turn down his proposal and even warned him to stay away.

Enraged by this Arbaz,set fire to the house when the family had gone to their relatives house for Ramzan festival the neighbours alerted the fire control room who rushed to the spot and put out the fire .

While no one was injured goods and household articles worth several lakh gutted .

Initially the police suspected that it was an accidental fire but the family members suspecting the role of Arbaz approached the police and filed a complaint.

Based on the complaint,the police conducted investigations and found the role of Arbaz, a senior officer, said .

The accused has been arrested and remanded to judicial custody.
