Lokayukta officials on Friday trapped the Deputy Director Food and Civil Supplies among two while accepting bribe for an official favour .
Based on the complaint filed by Purushottam V,35, owner of fair price shop a team of officials registered a case against the accused under Prevention of Corruption Act and arrested Preeti Chandrashekhar Deputy Director Food and Civil Supplies Bengaluru City and her associate (2) Ramesh (Private person).
The duo had demanded ₹ 70,000 from Chandrashekhar in return of revoking suspension of suspended Ration Shop and had taken ₹ 50,000 as advance.
Unable to pay the rest of the bribe,Chandrshekhar complained to Lokayukta and the officials trapped Ramesh while he was accepting the remaining amount of ₹ 20,000 at Kempegowdanagar ration shop.
Based on his information the officials arrested Preeti Chandrashekhar at DC office Kandaya bhavan Bengaluru for further investigation.
