Chief Minister Siddaramaiah suggested that priority should be given to the implementation of complementary projects to improve the Human Development Index of Kalyan Karnataka.
He reviewed the progress of Kalyan Karnataka Regional Development Board at Home Office Krishna today.
Emphasis should be laid on those areas in which we are lagging behind.Emphasis should also be placed on infrastructure development at hostels,Anganwadis and residential schools.
Available grants should be spent on priority areas. Roads,drinking water, irrigation and other infrastructure should also be prioritized .
It is our responsibility to give the necessary approvals from the finance department.The district in-charge minister should review the progress once a month and send the report to the board.
District in-charge secretaries should also conduct progress review.Anganwadis,hostels,schools,hospitals should be visited and inspected.
The CM pointed out that there is a need for coordination between district in-charge ministers and secretaries.
It is promised to provide Rs.5,000 crore per year in the election manifesto and budget.
The CM directed to prepare an action plan by July 15 to in order to spend this amount.
He directed officers that Tenders should be called immediately for the approved works for which the tenders have not been called.He said that the works should be evaluated.
For the year 2023-24,the largest grant of Rs.3,000 crore has been released to Kalyan Karnataka Regional Development Board.
A sum of 2009.53 crores including initial charges have been spent during this period.
Chairman of the board Ajay Singh said that this is the highest expenditure incurred till now since the formation of the board.
Rs.2885.900 crore is currently available with the board. Since the formation of the board till now 35724 works have been approved and 26418 works have been completed.
In the year 2023-24, out of 6468 works,136 works have been completed and 3226 works are in progress.He explained that 3106 works are to be started.
Regular progress review of pending works should be done and any bottlenecks in implementation should be removed.
The Chief Minister directed that the pending 3528 works should be started by the end of July.
He suggested that more emphasis should be given to education,health and job creation.
It has been decided to spend 25% of the grant by declaring two years as an academic year.
Ajay Singh said that there is a demand for primary health centers in the health sector and it has been decided to emphasize on this.
The Chief Minister directed to submit a proposal for setting up Primary Health Centers as per the prescribed norms.
The manifesto announced that 41 women’s degree colleges would be started in the field of higher education.He suggested to take necessary action to initiate it.
Greening of barren land,groundwater recharge needs to be prioritized.The CM suggested that development of schools in Kalyan Karnataka region should be emphasized under CSR and the administrative departments should sanction the establishment of high school,undergraduate and graduate colleges,he directed.
