Two students were killed and another injured when the SUV they were driving crashed into the truck on the Mysuru Bengaluru expressway near Ramanagara in the early hours on Saturday.
The deceased have been identified as Vishwa,21 and Surya,20,pursuing diploma course in private college and the injured Suhas aged around 20 who was driving the car.
The trio was from Andhra Pradesh and are friends studying in the same college .
They headed to Mysuru for a trip on weekend in a car belonging to Vishwa’s dad and Suhas was driving .
According to the police,the car was in high speed and lost control in a bid to overtake the truck passing in front of them near Kapanaiahna doddi near Ramanagar .
The car crushed into the back side of the truck and flipped many times on the road before halt.
Due to the impact of the accident the vehicle was mangled and passers-by along with Ramanagar traffic police struggled to pull out the trio who were struck inside the car.
They were rushed to near-by private hospital where the police declared the two as brought dead.Suhas sustained multiple injuries and being treated in the ICU.
The Ramanagar traffic police have registered a case of death due to negligence and rash and negligent driving against Suhas for further investigation.
Reacting to the accident,Alok Kumar,Additional Director General of Police,Traffic and Road Safety,said that in the last 15 hours two ghastly accidents due to over speeding killing six people in separate incident in Bidadi and Chitradurga .
Mr.Kumar said over speeding is certain recipe for disaster and also raised concerned over night driving by inexperienced drivers are the major factor .
