ight security deployed in and around the court complex as a large crowd had gathered outside and in the hallway of the Special Court for Economic Offences hallways on Nrupathunga Road where the actor and the other suspects were produced.
The majority of the crowd were lawyers and policemen, along with a few supporters of the actor and selected journalists.
A journalist from New Indian Express was attacked by a group of men outside the court hall when the hearing on going on.
The reporter identified as Rakshith was waiting outside the court hall to get an update when a group approached him and asked whether he was journalist.
As soon as he replied yes,the accused attacked him reign in punches and robbed his mobile phone.
The victim,Rakshith,sustained injuries on his face and lips,managed to escape the attack and went to Halasurgate police station where he filed a complaint and cops registered a NCR on the same .
Since March 2012 incident of clash between advocates and media crew and police in March 2012 the advocates nurture grudges against journalists and barred them from entering court premises .
