CCB inspector thimmegowda committed suicide by hanging to a tree in bidadi

A n official from the Central Crime Branch (CCB) of the Bengaluru police was found dead in Ramanagar on Monday.The deceased is Thimmegowda,an inspector in the city’s crime branch Economics Offence Wing.

Initial reports suggested that the official was found hanging from a tree in a deserted area under the Bidadi police limits.

Ramanagar Superintendent of Police (SP),Karthik Reddy has visited the spot along with his personnel. Investigations have been launched to ascertain the cause. Details are awaited.

The body had no visible injury marks.The body was moved to a hospital for autopsy and things will be clear once we receive the report.Since the probe is in the initial state,we cannot comment on the cause of death,” an investigator said.

Police suspect it to be a case of suicide but have yet to rule out other angles.Some of Thimmegowda’s kin told media persons that he was “under pressure at work in a recent case”.

Meanwhile Thimmegowda has been booked by Hassan Police has been booked under cheating,criminal intimidation dated back to 2019 which he has been challenged in the High Court .

The HC observed that, the alleged facts attract the rape charged and directed the session court to include the charges against him..

The Hassan district additional session court continued the proceeding and conducted the trail on July 20 posting the next hearing to August 31.

The deceased while working as Police Inspector in MESCOM in 2007 booked under sections 417 and 506 of IPC for allegedly promising to marry a woman constable,impregnating her and causing her to deliver a female child and refusing to marry her.

Thimmegowda was disturbed with this development and this could be one the reason for his extreme step,a officer, said adding that preliminary probe revealed that he did not have any family issues nor the police found any death note .

The deceased Thimmegowda,was transferred to the Economic Offenses Wing of Bengaluru’s CCB,a month ago from his previous role as the Kumbalagodu station.

Earlier Thimmegoda was working as Inspector at Attibele police station and suspected for negligence on part of his duty following a fire incident at warehouse killing 16 people and injuring over half a dozen people .
