he prison department ordered probe into the a photograph said to be clicked from inside the Parappana Agrahara Central Prison went viral on Sunday showing jailed actor Darshan Thoogudeepa smoking a cigarette and sipping coffee along with three others sitting in the lawn leisurely .
Darshan,along with his sixteen associates,are in judicial custody for the alleged murder of Renukaswamy from Chitradurga.
As the photograph went viral prompting senior officials to visit the central prison to conduct inquiry.The inquiry was to ascertain the veracity of the photographs,conducted a detailed probe about the incident and submit a report to the DGP for necessary action.
The photo shows Darshan holding a coffee mug while sitting on a chair in a lawn along with three others two among them are said to be rowdy-sheeters and his manager who is also accused in the murder case.He is also seen holding a cigarette on his left hand and chatting cheerfully .
This development came days after the High court rejected his plea for home food citing health condition.Darshan’s “preferential treatment was also highlighted earlier following which the home department denied.
Meanwhile BJP MLC,N Ravikumar condemen the incident where prison officials alleged preferential treatment to Darshan.
The Home department should clarify before the general public whether the parappana Agrahara is a prison or a palace”, he quipped .
He also came down heavily on congress led ruling government stating that it is a failure on their part and deteriorating law and order situation in the state.
Ravi Kumar further alleged that the picture shows that Darshan is getting all kinds of facilities provided by the prison officials is a disaster and expressed his concern that he might get supplies of other things in the prison,too .
He demanded the government to take strict action against the erring officials to ensure such incidents should not be repeated .
