ailed film Actor Darshan Thoogudeepa,admitted before the Investigating officer that he assaulted Renukaswamy black and blue and even made his female friend Pavithra Gowda to beat him with slippers .
In a statement before Chandan Kumar N,Assistant Commissioner of Police on June 21,Darshan stated that when he went to Jayanna’s shed in Pattanagere,he saw the deceased Renukaswamy was already tired and appeared like he was already assaulted .”
He further added,“I kicked him near his neck,chest and head.I hit him with my hands and a wooden branch. I asked Pavithra Gowda to hit him with her slipper.
In his confessional statement Darshan said that after getting to know that Renukaswamy was brought to shed, i picked up Pavithra Gowda from her house and reached at around 4.30 pm.
“I saw Renukaswamy was already beaten and exhausted and asked him whether he is the one who sent messages,for which he admitted “.
Darshan asked him whether he wanted all this and asked for his salary for which Renukaswamy replied Rs. 20,000 at that time Darshan got furious and asked,can u maintain her with the salary,how can u message her like that and started beating .
He reigned punches and kicks and even broke a branch from a near-by tree and assaulted him.After few minutes Darshan asked Pradosh to get Pavithra waiting in the car.
When Pavithra came to the spot,Darshan told Renukaswamy that she is the one who he was messaging and asked Pavithra to beat him with slippers .
Pavithra beat him with slippers and Darshan asked him to fall on her feet and apologise.Pavithra scared and stepped back when Renukaswamy fell on her feet to apologise .
Darshan asked Vinay to drop Pavithra to her house and by then Lakshman,Dasrshan’s driver came and started beating Renukaswmay.He even smashed Renukaswamy on the ground .
Darshan further confessed that he asked Pawan to check his mobile phone to find whether he had messaged others in a similar way.
Pawan checked all the messages and said that he is habitual and no respect for women.Darshan got furious and beat him again before leaving the place.
When he came out of the shed,he saw a group of men from Chitradurga who got Renukaswamy to the shed and on his insist he clicked a photo with them and left the place .
Darshan left the place and on the way met Jayanna , owner of the shed and reached home at around 7.30 pm Pradush came home and informed that Renukaswamy had died .
Pradush went to the shed to check and called him again on his phone informing him that he would manage the incident and asked for Rs.30 lakh which was handed over to him.Later Vinay came and asked for Rs.10 lakh which was given to him before he left to Mysore for a shooting .
It may be recalled that a mutilated body of Renukaswamy,a huge fan of Darshan,was found dead near a storm drain next to an apartment complex in Sumanahalli Bengaluru on the June 9.
Raghavendra,close associate and member of Darshan’s fan club from Chitradurga,on the behest of Darshan kidnapped Renukaswamy by saying that the actor wanted to meet him personally and invited him to a shelter in RR Nagar.Tragically,it was then where where Renukaswamy was tortured to death.
Custody extended till September 12:
The court has extended the custody of Darshan and others till September 12 who have been charged under 11 sections including kidnapping,murder,criminal conspiracy,robbery,using weapons,unlawful assembly and destroying evidence among others .
