CM Chandrababu: Rs 25,000 per family on the ground floor

Rs.10 thousand for the flooded houses in other parts of the state – Amaravati

CM Chandrababu announced a package to help flood victims in Vijayawada and other parts of the state. 179 secretariats and 32 wards of Vijayawada along with Ibrahimpatnam, Jakkampudi Colony and Vambe Colony will be given Rs. A compensation of Rs.10,000 has been finalized for each family on the first and subsequent floors. In other parts of the state, Rs 10,000 will be given to each family in the flooded ground floor. Chandrababu told reporters the details of this package at the state secretariat on Tuesday night. He said that this is the first time in the history of the state that this level of compensation has been announced for every family that has been flooded. Compensation for various types of crops has been announced to help the farmers affected by the floods. “If anyone is living in rented houses in the flood-affected areas, we will provide compensation to them. Homeowner’s insurance can make a claim. We will also pay the crop damage compensation to the tenant farmers,” he said. The package was given to grocery stores, hotels, other petty businesses, micro, medium and small scale industries that were affected by the flood. Compensation has been finalized for damaged two-wheelers, autos and fishing boats. He said that a total of 2,72,272 families have become victims in the state due to floods. These are the compensation details announced by Chandrababu.

Crop losses like this… 

  • 25,000 per hectare for first crops of cotton, groundnut, rice and sugarcane.
  • 15,000 per hectare for sajjas, minumuls, pesal, maize, ragu, kandu, sesame, soybean, sunflower, tobacco, castor, jute, korras and samal. 
  • 75 thousand per hectare for betel plantations
  • 35 thousand per hectare for banana, turmeric, kanda, chilli, guava, lemon, mango, coffee, pomegranate, apple bear, sapota, cashew, dragon fruit plantations
  • 25 thousand per hectare for vegetable, papaya, tomato, flower, onion, watermelon gardens and nurseries
  • We asked the bankers to lend Rs.1,500 each for oil palm and coconut trees, Rs.50,000 per house for those on the ground floor, and Rs.25,000 per house for those on the first and above floors. We have asked to impose a moratorium of three months and then give an opportunity to pay the amount in 36 months.

We are asking the bankers to reschedule the loans of shops, commercial establishments and MSMEs and give a moratorium for two years. We request the Center to give incentives to them. We have asked to reschedule short-term crop loans and give a moratorium of 12 months. Reschedule the term loan installments and ask for a new loan. 

  • Of the 3,748 service requests received by the Urban Company, we completed the service for 3,569 requests. 14 companies like Samsung, Bluestar, Daikin, Godrej received 3,727 service calls. 1,400 of them were solved. I will go to their service centers and check. If they don’t do it right I will expose those companies. The Transport Commissioner should take responsibility to prevent fraud in the repair of two-wheelers and three-wheelers. Repairs should be done in company workshops as well as outside mechanics. 
  • We are extending the property tax collection deadline by three months. 
  • We provide textbooks and note books to students in flood affected areas. We provide various types of certificates, land records, Aadhaar, ration cards, etc.
