B ommai directs steps to ensure Vande Bharat Express halts at Haveri
Hubballi:Former Chief Minister and Member of Parliament from Haveri-Gadag constituency,Basavaraj Bommai,conducted a review meeting on the construction and progress of railway projects in the Haveri-Gadag Lok Sabha constituency,directing officials to take necessary steps to ensure that the Vande Bharat Express halts at Haveri.
At the meeting held today at Rail Soudha on Gadag Road in Hubballi,he reviewed the progress of ongoing railway projects in the Gadag-Haveri district and urged for swift action to initiate new railway lines.
In the Gadag district,the MP reviewed projects such as the railway bridge on the Gadag-Hombal road,the new Gadag-Yalavigi railway line,the construction of an underpass near Hallikeri in Mundaragi taluk,the Gadag-Gajendragad-Wadi line,repairs of the Ballari Gate underpass between Gadag and Betageri,and the preparation and approval of plans for the Gadag-Navalgund-Nargund railway line.
He also mentioned a public request for the relocation of the new Hulakoti-Yalavigi line survey near Kanavi village and instructed officials to review and take appropriate action.
The former CM further emphasized the completion of the overbridge work at Gate No.2A in Gangapur Pet, Gadag, and the commencement of land acquisition for the Gadag-Shirahatti-Yalavigi railway line.
The officials must take necessary steps to implement the new Gadag-Harapanahalli railway line.
In Haveri district,the MP focused on the renovation of railway stations at Yalavigi,Haveri,Byadgi,Ranebennur, and Chalageri,the construction of a railway bridge near Yalavigi between Lakdmeshwar and Savanur,and the land acquisition for the new Ranebennur-Shikaripura railway line.
He also urged the construction of a railway bridge between Konabevu and Shidganal in Ranebennur taluk and a flyover to replace the existing underpass near Yalavigi village in Savanur taluk.
Bommai,in addition to this,suggested appropriate action to halt trains such as Jan Shatabdi,Kittur Rani Chennamma Express,Yeshwantpur-Vasco Express,and Mangaluru-Vijayapura Express at Yalavigi station.
South Western Railway General Manager Arvind Srivastav and several other department officials were present during the meeting.
