he Kempegowda international Airport police on Saturday registered an FIR against Kerala Film Director for sexually assaulting a film artiste at a hotel in 2012 and recorded the act on his mobile phone .
The victim aged around 31,had filed a complaint with the Kasaba police in Kerala in September this year, which was transferred to Airport police since the incident had occurred here .
Based on the complaint, the police have registered a case against Ranjith, Charging him under section 377 ( un natural sexual offence) and also under various section of IT Act.
The accused according to the complainant,had met Ranjith at east Hill area in Kerala when he had gone to meet a superstar (Mamooty).
Ranjith had shared his mobile phone and later called him to come and meet him at a star hotel near airport in Bengaluru.
After visiting the hotel room situated at the 4th floor of the hotel,Ranjith offered his alcohol and later asked him to disrobe and sexually assaulted him.
He also recorded the act on his mobile phone shared with others,the complainant alleged .
The police have initiated a probe and will summon the victim to record his statement and also conduct spot inspection for further investigation.
