Apartments for MLAs, MLCs and AIS in Amaravati Rs. 524.70 crores! The aim is to prepare
the tenders for the pending works soon in nine months – Amaravati
CRDA has prepared estimates of Rs.524.70 crore for the completion of pending works in the apartment towers being constructed for MLAs, MLCs and All India Service (AIS) officers in the capital Amaravati. Permission has been obtained from CRDA to invite new tenders for this purpose. 18 towers with 12 storeys (S+12) are being constructed next to the seed access road in the administrative city of Rajdhani for MLAs, MLCs and All India Service Officers. 432 apartment units (flats) are being prepared. The coalition government aims to make the towers available within nine months from the time the tenders are called and the work is handed over. CRDA has spent Rs.444.05 crore on these towers so far.

Administration of Vaikapa… additional expenditure of Rs.268 crores

The Vaikapa government has blocked the work on Amaravati. After a gap of five years, the estimated cost of taking them up again and completing them is increasing significantly. The construction of 18 towers started in 2017 at an estimated cost of Rs.700 crore. By the time Vaikapa came to power in 2019, the construction of 18 towers of civil structures was almost completed. CRDA spent Rs.395.65 crores for their construction between 2014-19. Mainly constructions like podium, clubhouse, water sump, architectural finishing works like floors, fall ceiling, electrical and plumbing works, roads, sewerage systems, electrical sub-stations, transformers and chiller units are left. It has been shown that Rs.80.38 crores were spent on these works during the Vaikapa government. HUDCO, which gave a loan to this project, has done some work to show that the work is going on. But not a single tower was available. CRDA has estimated that the total cost of completion of the works including taxes will be Rs.524.70 crore. That means if we add Rs.444.05 crores already spent… it will be Rs.968.75 crores. Due to the suspension of the works by the Vaikapa government, they have to spend an additional Rs.268 crores for the construction of 18 towers.
