Congress’s contribution to Shiggaon-Savanur constituency is zero:Bommai

Haveri (Shiggaon):Congress MLAs and ministers in the Shiggaon-Savanur constituency are undermining democratic values by seeking votes based on caste and distributing money.

But the voters of the constituency would teach them a lesson, said former Chief Minister and MP Basavaraj Bommai.

Speaking at a press conference in Shiggaon on Monday, he said said he has witnessed many elections, but has never seen the entire government behave in this manner. It makes one question if this government has any belief in democracy .

Ministers are disregarding democratic principles, openly seeking votes based on caste, and distributing money. In some places, people have rejected their money.

Accusing the Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of making false statements and the MP said the CM has never spoken about what he has done for this constituency.

Congress’s contribution to Shiggaon-Savanur is zero. The Housing Minister,Zameer Ahmed Khan said that says he hasn’t built a single house. There are records in the housing department,in the DC and Tahsildar offices and let him check.

The former CM sought to know”How many houses that I approved still have pending installments? How many have been canceled? What compensation has been given to houses damaged by floods?.

Answer these questions.Baseless allegations won’t work here.Congress leaders need to apologize to the public and speak the truth.Even when the CM visited Shiggaon yesterday, he did not provide any answers”.

Scam Government

Bommai said the incumbent Congress government has committed a scam worth Rs.187 crore in the Valmiki Corporation. That amount could have been used for the Valmiki community’s housing and Ganga Kalyana scheme.

The reserved funds for the Valmiki community are being diverted to Hyderabad. The CM has admitted the scandal, and one of their ministers has even gone to jail.

Public Works Department Minister,Satish Jarkiholi is here asking for votes but has not spoken a word about the Valmiki scandal. It was the previous BJP government that increased the reservation for the Valmiki community.

He slammed the Congress government for withdrawing Rs.24,000 crore meant for SC/ST programs and Rs 2,500 crore reserved for backward class corporations. What moral right do you have to seek votes from the SC/ST and backward communities?”he asked.

Mentioning the Wakf property scam,Bommai said where, in case of any issue, the Chief Minister calls a meeting. “The entire Kaginele village has been marked as Wakf property.Farmers’ fields, schools, and tanks are being marked as Wakf assets.

In Hulagur, they had built around 200 houses under the slum board notification, and now they claim it’s Wakf property. This has led to call to boycott voting and he is trying to convince the people against such decisions. The Wakf issue is like a plague, and farmers and the public will fight against this government.

He said allegations of a COVID scam were being used against BJP leaders, despite the cabinet not officially accepting Justice Michael D.Cunha’s report.“Ministers are responding to leaks of this report,”he opined.

Bommai criticized the excise department, stating,They have put up an open board like in hotels. How much is the fee for CL2, CL7,and CL9 licenses?.

The excise minister says no transfers have been made, but a scam involving license transfers is taking place,”he alleged.

Government officials are under pressure in this administration. An official from the Valmiki Corporation committed suicide,an officer in Yadgir did the same, and an SDA took his life in Belagavi. In Shiggaon, officials are frustrated.

The defeated candidate here is demanding money, and teachers have been fixed with monthly payments,”he claimed.

Responding to a question about the controversial statement made by Minister Zamir Ahmad against Central Minister H.D.Kumaraswamy,Bommai said,The CM Siddaramaiah has given full license to Minister Zamir, and even after a court order, it’s being treated as a political issue.”

When asked about the accusations regarding money distribution in Savanur,Bommai clarified that BJP candidate Bharat Bommai had no connection to the incident, stating it was something that happened on the street.
